Founded in 2000 by Fariha Faran, Wajood has come a long way from its beginnings in a living room. After completing a decade as a lecturer of art and design at the University of Home Economics, Fariha decided that she needed a more creative outlet. Her interest in fashion didn’t come as a surprise as she had begun fabric painting at a very young age and enhanced her artistic abilities through a degree in textiles and art. She also realized that she wanted to spend all her time providing her fellow Lahoris with easier access to elegant and versatile eastern wear. Therefore, she quit her job, a decision which gave her the impetus to turn hard work and inspiration into her budget-friendly fashion boutique. Soon after, one of her college friends, Aliya Aitzaz hopped on board. Using her experience in entrepreneurship and client management, she helped Wajood grow into what we see it as today. We now serve customers all over the world and are thrilled to be active contributors to the fashion industry of Pakistan.

As Pakistanis, we have a very strong cultural identity which is represented by our clothes. We believe that fashion is a way for women to express their new-found socio-cultural freedom and economic power in our society.
We don’t compete with high end names in the industry. Our mission has always been to provide clothes created by expert artisans using high quality materials while being trendy and appropriately priced at the same time.
